July 2nd
Bradford City: Jason Kennedy signs two-year deal

Bradford City have signed former Rochdale midfielder Jason Kennedy on a two-year deal.

The 26-year-old joins the promoted Bantams on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Spotland.

Kennedy spent four seasons at Rochdale, helping them to promotion from League Two in 2009-10.

Having begun his career at Middlesbrough, Kennedy also played for Darlington before going on to make 182 starts for Rochdale, scoring 15 goals.

NO JPT BYE FOR CITY

The Bantams will be in the hat for the first round of this season's
Johnstone's Paint Trophy after missing out on one of the competition's byes
into the second round.

To ensure numbers are correct for round two, a number of Football League
clubs each season receive a bye straight into the second round even before
the competition begins for the new season.

Having received a bye in the first round of the trophy last season, City are
not eligible for a bye this time around and will therefore begin this year's
competition from the very first stage.

Competition rules state that clubs cannot receive a bye in the trophy two
seasons on the trot.

The draw for this season's first round will take place on Saturday 17 August
2013 during Sky Sports' football-related Saturday morning show Soccer AM.

Ties in the first round itself are scheduled to take place the week
commencing 2 September 2013.
